It was one of the suggestions made at a programme on reforms in electoral process organised by convenor of Mysore Association Against Corruption Vasanthkumar Mysoremutt at the JSS Law College here on Tuesday.

He said there is an increase in the number of youngsters, who are not exercising their franchise. Stringent action should be taken to ensure that the society comes out to vote.

Elected representatives involved in corruption should be thrown out of power and party-hoppers should be suspended from politics. A stern stand should be taken against the use of black money in campaigning, he added.

Mysoremutt said, “Voting is an important aspect in democracy. Electoral reforms is a challenging task. But, transparency is needed while conducting elections.”

MGP’s Bhamy V Shenoy, JSS Law College professors M S Venugopal and S Shivanand were present.
