Distributing prize to the winning team, legislator K P Bachegowda said that the district deserves the credit of contributing international-level football players for over decades.
He said that the district has carved out a distinct place for itself in football and hoped that apart from the state-level tourney, the district would host the national-level event.
Deputy Commissioner Anwar Pasha, who spoke on the occasion said that the district has hosted the state-level event successfully for the second time and is prepared to hold the national-level event.
ZP president Vinuta Srinivas, vice-president Chenduru Venkatesh, City Municipal Council president M Prakash, Assistant Director of Youth Service and Sports Department Rayappa and others were present. District administration, Zilla Panchayat, Youth Service and Sports Department and Sports Authority of Karnataka had jointly organised the event.
