JOIN USEntrepreneur B Venkatesh Prasad, the younger brother of Cong MLA from Bellary Rural B Nagendra, joined Bharatiya Janata Party here on Tuesday.
Prasad had made an unsuccessful bid for Congress ticket during the Lok Sabha byelections to Bellary constituency held in November last. A disappointed Prasad has now hopped to the saffron fold, ahead of Lok Sabha elections. Curiously, his brother Nagendra too said to be “disenchanted” with the Congress-JD(S) coalition government in the state. Devendrappa, a Congress leader from Harapanahalli and a relative of Jarkiholi brothers, too joined BJP recently. Rumours are rife that either Devendrappa or Venkatesh Prasad may get the BJP ticket.
Addressing a press meet, Prasad said that he joined BJP out of his appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration.
