Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy will leave on Tuesday for a three-day visit to New Delhi, where he will be meeting union ministers and MPs from Karnataka.

The monsoon session of the Parliament is scheduled to commence on Wednesday. Kumaraswamy will be looking to further various agenda points with leaders from the ruling party at the Centre.

Soon after landing in the national capital, Kumaraswamy will be meeting Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan. He is likely to seek an increase in the subsidy from the Centre for procuring rice from the open market to be distributed under the Anna Bhagya scheme.

His next visit would be to the Transport Bhawan, where he will meet Union Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Water Resources, Nitin Gadkari. The Centre’s decision to notify the Cauvery Water Management Authority (CWMA) to decide on the sharing of the river water among the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and the Union Territory -- Puducherry, would come up for discussion.

The next day, he would meet Union Minister for Agriculture, Radha Mohan Singh, in the morning. Procuring defence land for infrastructure projects, especially in Bengaluru, would be discussed during the chief minister’s meeting with Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, officials in the CM’s secretariat said.

The pending railway projects would be discussed with Railways Minister Piyush Goyal. Kumaraswamy would be holding a meeting with MPs from the state, followed by a dinner the same evening. He will fly back to Bengaluru on Thursday morning.
