JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has said that Rahul Gandhi was his choice for the post of prime minister.
"Mamata Banerjee, Chandrababu Naidu and Mayawati also are qualified to become prime ministers, but Rahul Gandhi is my choice," Deve Gowda said. He was addressing a press meet here on Saturday.
Replying to a question, Gowda said that Siddaramaiah had challenged Eshwarappa that he would become chief minister once again and there is no need to discuss the issue anymore. Denying that he was a prime ministerial aspirant, Gowda said that though he never claimed so, the Opposition parties were targetting him on this issue. He claimed that the Congress-JD(S) combine would win 22-25 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.
