Suneel Puranik appointed film academy chief

The state government has appointed television actor Suneel Puranik as the chairman of Karnataka Film Academy, here on Wednesday.

According to a notification, Puranik will take charge with immediate effect and until further orders by the government.

Sunil is a television actor, who switched his interests to the big screen a few years ago. He has acted in movies such as Liftman and directed the movie Gurukula.
