Katta to manage Sankalpa in Mysore

Already preparations are underway and Excise Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu has been entrusted with the responsibility of organising the event, said Transport Minister R Ashok on Sunday.

Then, what role will the Mysore district in-charge Minister Shobha Karandlaje will play? According to sources, Shobha may find it tough to organise the event and hence, Katta has been asked to manage the show. The event at Bangalore was supervised by Ashok.

All is not well in Mysore BJP camp especially after the recent Lok Sabha elections. The party lost both Mysore and Chamarajnagar seats, where Shobha was in-charge. The leaders in the City of Palaces are also upset with her style of functioning, sources pointed out.

“There were talks of making Ashok in-charge of Mysore, while asking Shobha to manage the upcoming BBMP elections. But some of the senior leaders of Mysore opposed this move saying that ‘foreigners’ (meaning leaders from outside Mysore) will not be acceptable,” a BJP leader said.

In case Yeddyurappa has to make a local leader in-charge of the district, he has hardly any choice. There are just two BJP MLAs, Shankarlinge Gowda and A Ramdas, in Mysore.
