Shanavas told the LS that the NH-212 links Wayanad and Calicut in Kerala with Chamarajnagar in Karnataka and the High Court’s ban on nocturnal traffic had caused severe inconveniences for the people of both the States.
He said that the Centre should intervene and get the Karnataka government take appropriate steps to lift the ban.
The ban, which intends to save the wild animals from being killed by vehicles, will come into effect from Wednesday.
