The leopard, which had grown weak, was spotted in the field of Swamy, a resident of Arasankere village.
Freed into forest
The villagers informed the forest department, who caught the big cat and later let it into the H D Kote forest.
The task of the forest department staff was made easier, as the leopard had grown too weak, said veterinarian Nagaraj. The residents of villages surrounding Arasankere were a worried lot, as the leopard had killed several livestock.
