LS polls: BJP OBC Morcha plans intensive tour

In light of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the OBC Morcha of the state BJP will tour all 28 constituencies in a bid to galvanise workers in the grassroots, starting from January 15.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Morcha president B J Puttaswamy said that a two-month-long tour will be taken up under the leadership of senior party leader K S Eshwarappa and himself.

During the tours, the leaders would organise booth-level conferences and also identify potential candidates for the elections and apprise the party high command of the same, he said.The state BJP, which has already begun preparing for the elections, hopes to complete the process of constituting booth-level committees by January 10.

While a massive OBC convention in Patna, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to participate in during the second week of February, would be a major highlight, the state wing would be organising the birthday of party leader B S Yeddyurappa in a grand manner on February 27, he added.
