ASI assaulted for indecent behaviour

An ASI was beaten black and blue by villagers for allegedly sending vulgar SMSes to a woman.

The accused is Vasanth, ASI at Siddapura police station.

It is said that Vasanth was on election duty and had visited a village in Makkandoor gram panchayat, where he had allegedly misbehaved with a woman. He had even obtained her mobilephone number.

Vasanth then frequently called her and even sent lewd messages.

Disgusted over his behaviour, the victim informed her husband. With the help of the villagers, victim’s husband hatched plan and invited him to the village. When Vasanth arrived, the victim’s husband along with villagers trashed him black and blue.

Based on the complaint by the victim, Rural Police Station police have booked a case against Vasanth on Saturday.
