The chief minister’s visit to Mulur health resort is personal and he is not here to have fun, Minister for Tourism S R Mahesh stressed on Tuesday.

The minister was reacting to the statements made by former chief minister Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa had claimed that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was at the resort in order to have fun. He added that the chief minister had cut short the Ayurveda treatment at Mulur health resort due to the Sri Lanka serial blasts.

The minister told reporters after visiting Sri Krishna Temple that Yeddyurappa’s statements were not expected from the stature of a former chief minister. “He should understand the pressure faced by the chief minister while in office. Politicians do have a private life and good health is a primary requirement,” he added.

Mahesh said the chief minister and other ministers at Mulur are discharging their duties effectively. Thus no problems had surfaced.

He acknowledged that the poll code of conduct was preventing them from convening a meeting of officials.
