‘Modi synonymous with strength’

BJP candidate Dr Umesh Jadhav, who switched over to the BJP to take on veteran Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, is hopeful of winning the Lok Sabha election riding Modi wave. He is confident that development works taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi help him emerge victorious. Despite the busy election campaign, DH caught up Umesh Jadhav. Excerpts:

Why should people vote for you?

Development works taken up by Mallikarjun Kharge for the past 48 years are not satisfactory. Employment has not been generated locally. Industries have not been brought to the district. After some cement factories have closed down, thousands of people lost jobs. Irrigation projects have taken a backseat for several years.

Why are you dependent so much on Modi wave?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made a mark at international level due to his works, intelligence and diplomacy. Hence, I joined the BJP by quitting the Congress. Ten percent reservation has been provided to the people of upper castes. Why didn’t the Congress see poor in the upper castes?. Modi is synonymous with strength. Hence, I am seeking vote on Modi’s name.

What is your vision for the constituency?

My vision is to bring industries to this region generate employment locally for youth. Priority will be accorded to quality education, potable water.
