Half of that much power, 6,000 MW is expected to be generated through non-conventional sources. As many as four gas-based power projects are also coming up. The total investment in the sector is expected to be Rs 79,140 crore.
Some of the investors with power projects are Shree Renuka Infra projects (Rs 5,500 crore), Gupta Energy Pvt Ltd (Rs 6,887.97 crore), Luxor Energy Pvt Ltd (Rs 5,902.8 crore).
Mega industries, including integral steel plants, are also installing captive generation units.
The excess power generated by these units will be sold to the state.
