Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy said the state government is working on a plan to organise cultural events through the year in Mysuru.

In a Friday press conference, the chief minister said that lakhs of people thronged the city during Dasara and that cultural events attracted the people. And so, the government will take measures to organise a variety of events all through the year, he said.

Kumaraswamy said that he has directed the concerned officials to prepare a blueprint to make Mysuru a tourist hub.

Melukote, Somnathapur Temple, Krishnaraja Sagar and Kodagu will be included in the project, he said.

The chief minister specified that the move would not only boost tourism but also generate employment in the region.
