Rajmohan Gandhi, research professor and grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, has said that South India will play a decisive role in the upcoming General Election and the ruling NDA alliance will take a backseat in the southern states.

Speaking to media persons, he said that Gandhiji was a true Hindu and the country needs Hinduism propagated by Gandhiji and not the one being advocated by the BJP. The society has taught a bitter lesson to all those provoking communalism and hatred, he added. On remarks of Minister Anantkumar Hegde, he said the people should have revolted when Hegde said that Congress chief Rahul Gandhi’s father was a Muslim.
