Cooperation Minister Bandeppa Kashempur said that there are no differences between the Congress and the JD(S) ministers over Tipu Jayanti.
He said Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy is indisposed and hence, has excused himself from the celebrations.
Kashempur said Animal Husbandry Minister Venkatarao Nadagouda will attend the state-organised event at Banquet Hall, Vidhana Soudha, on behalf of Kumaraswamy.
“Neither Kumaraswamy nor our party leader Deve Gowda is opposed to the celebrations,” he added.
Rubbishing speculations that he has advised his brother Kumaraswamy to stay away from the fete, Public Works Minister H D Revanna said he had not attached any unfounded beliefs to Tipu Jayanti.
“I am participating in the celebrations in Hassan,” he said.
