Tahsildar of Chitradurga taluk, Kantharaju, has slapped a fine of Rs 1.20 crore on PNC Infotech, a private company, on the charge of cheating the government of Rs 23 lakh royalty by illegally extracting soil.
The private firm allegedly carried out illegal mining in six acres . “The firm didn’t have permission for the mining. A notice has been slapped on the management directing to pay the royalty and the fine amount,” Kantharaju said.
