Santhosh says ‘Operation Kamala’ in progress

Last Updated 06 March 2019, 19:25 IST

Bharatiya Janata Party organising secretary B L Santhosh hinted that ‘Operation Kamala’, an attempt by the party to woo MLAs of the JD(S)-Congress coalition, to form its own government, is still in progress.

Addressing a meeting of the party’s booth-level workers, Shakthi Kendra Pramukhs on J K Grounds here on Wednesday, he said, the BJP ‘Hulis’ (tigers) are in the forest of the coalition and they will hunt at the appropriate time. “It is certain that the BJP government will be formed in the state. It is only a matter of time. The resignation of Congress MLA Umesh Jadhav is only a beginning. More developments are expected,” he predicted.

“The final political assault on the JD(S)-Congress coalition will be in the Mysuru division — Mysore-Kodagu, Mandya, Hassan and Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituencies. The BJP will trounce the coalition parties on their own turf. We have respect for the age of leaders, including JD(S) president and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda. But when it comes to national interest, it should not matter. This time, in the Lok Sabha polls, a few such leaders will be retired with the victory of the BJP,” he said.
