Siddaramaiah not trying to topple govt: DKS

Last Updated 26 October 2018, 10:33 IST

Water Resources Minister D K Shivakumar on Sunday said former chief minister Siddaramaiah was not making any attempt to topple the coalition government.

Speaking to reporters in Bengaluru, Shivakumar went to the extent of hailing Siddaramaiah. “Siddaramaiah is a good and a genuine leader. He is not trying to topple the government. It is common for senior leaders to be politically ambitious and aspirational. His remarks are, however, being misinterpreted. I have stood behind Siddaramaiah like a rock for four and a half years (when he was the chief minister) and worked with him. We did try our best to make him the chief minister again, but to no avail,” he said, adding there were no differences of opinion among the ministers.

Shivakumar also took a dig at the BJP for trying to dislodge the government. “This is not a pot, for it to be broken into pieces in one go. The BJP leaders should be patient,” he said.
