Siddu warns Maharashtra

“The Karnataka-Maharashtra boundary dispute was settled 45 years ago, but Maharashtra rakes up the issue every now and then. We are Indians and Maharashtra must accept the Mahajan Commission Report and not create problems,” he said.

Karnataka’s Poet Laureate (Rashtrakavi) Dr G S Shivrudrappa expressed regret that political leaders in the state were not committed to Kannada, unlike their counterparts in other south Indian states who were committed for the development of their languages.

Commitment for state language by political leaders here was needed, he said and advocated the need for primary education in Kannada.
