Suspected H1N1 death

A woman died of suspected H1N1 at Uttangi village in Huvinahadagali taluk of Ballari district on Tuesday.

The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Akkamahadevi. She was down with fever for the last couple of days and was undergoing treatment at the VIMS, Ballari. She was being shifted to Bengaluru on doctors’ advise, but died on the way.

It can be recalled that Hadapad Indiramma, a resident of the same village, died of H1H1 last week. Another woman suffering from dengue also died. Thus, in a span of 10 days, three women from the same village had died.

The residents have urged the Health department officials to visit the village and take measures to control various diseases afflicting the village.
