<p>Shivabasavaiah, who was suspended as chairman of Department of Zoology following the charges six months ago, has been given the new post after revoking his suspension, sources said. <br /><br />Efforts to contact Vice Chancellor V G Talawar and Registrar B Ramu on the development proved futile.<br /><br />Sarita, a research scholar had accused Shivabasavaiah of sexually harassing her, creating a furore in the corridors of the varsity. <br /><br />The Women’s Harassment Complaint Committee of the varsity that had conducted an inquiry had also indicted Shivabasavaiah. However, the University Syndicate preferred another round of investigation and had appointed a one-man committee. <br /><br />The complainant had knocked on the doors of the Governor at Raj Bhavan, besides the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) and also Women’s Commission.<br /><br />Jayalakshmipuram police, who have registered a case, are still investigating in to the complaint.</p>
