The forest guards, who were on rounds, spotted the carcass of a tigress and informed Range Forest Officer, Anand. He in turn brought the matter to the notice of the senior officers.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Raju told Deccan Herald that the tigress was around seven years of age and it might have died in a fight with another tiger over territory.
Usually tigers like to have their territory of 8 km to 10 km and try to establish their supremacy on the area. He said the injury on the tigress indicated that it had died during a fight with another tiger one or two days ago.
