Taking time off electioneering, Dr Avinash Jadhav, BJP candidate for byelection to Chincholi Assembly constituency, on Wednesday, appeared for the examination of Doctor of Medicine (MD) at Mahadevappa Rampure Medical College (MRMC) here on Wednesday. He wrote the first of the total four papers.

Speaking to reporters after emerging out of the examination hall, Avinash said, “I have written the examination amid the election pressure. I can’t write the remaining three papers. I will sit for them the next time.” To another question, the BJP candidate said he could not concentrate on studies as he was engaged in canvassing for the Gulbarga Lok
Sabha poll and the Chincholi byelection.

Responding to a query on the charge made by the Congress leaders that Dr Umesh Jadhav sold himself for Rs 50 crore, he said his father had not taken money from anyone.

Avinash said he was seeking votes on the basis of development. “The people will vote for me in the bypoll,” he said.

Daughter fails in PU exam

Umesh Jadhav alleged that his daughter failed in the II PU examination as she was depressed over the repeated allegations made by the Congress leaders that he had taken money to join the BJP.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “if their allegation is true, let them order a probe by any enquiry institution.”

“Congress leader in the Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, is the richest dalit leader. He has amassed assets worth Rs 50,000 crore. An investigation by Lokayukta is on against him. However, this issue has been kept under wraps,” Jadhav said.
