<p class="rtejustify">Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda has said that the government was planning to follow counselling model for appointments to all posts in the varsities including those of vice chancellors.</p>.<p class="rtejustify">Speaking to <span class="italic">DH</span> here on Sunday, the minister said that all the universities in the state should function under a common law without affecting their autonomous nature. Instructions have been issued for designing a software for conduct of common examinations. “We are planning to put in place a transparent system.”</p>.<p class="rtejustify">Devegowda said that there was no proposal for appointing KAS cadre officers to the post of vice chancellors.</p>
