Higher Education Minister G T Devegowda has said that the government was planning to follow counselling model for appointments to all posts in the varsities including those of vice chancellors.
Speaking to DH here on Sunday, the minister said that all the universities in the state should function under a common law without affecting their autonomous nature. Instructions have been issued for designing a software for conduct of common examinations. “We are planning to put in place a transparent system.”
Devegowda said that there was no proposal for appointing KAS cadre officers to the post of vice chancellors.
