‘Victory over demon in us is Vijayadashami’

Last Updated 15 December 2018, 14:20 IST

Victory over the demon in us is real Vijayadashami, said RSS Vibhag Pracharak Rajesh from Puttur.

Addressing RSS volunteers during the Boudhik held here, as part of Vijayadashami, recently, he said, “Vijayadashami should herald the beginning of the awakening of the positive side of our character, snubbing the negatives ones. One version of Vijayadashami is that it is the triumph of the righteous Rama over Ravana. However, it is not just Rama who fought for Dharma. Dharma should not be equated with some religion here. It is the right path, approved by the society after a lot of experimenting, to reduce hardships to the people in the society. Jatayuu was the first to lay his life in an attempt to stop Ravana when he learnt that Ravana was on the path of Adharma. Many people, including the vanaras, joined Rama in his fight for Dharma”. “The sense of Dharma is among all Indians. But, due to various reasons, including the flawed education system, the society has drifted from its original self. There are several examples, where nations have disintegrated, unable to cope with a single problem. If
India has survived the onslaught of so many problems, it is because of the original character of Indians, which is inherent, to fight for Dharma,” he said. Retired lecturer Mallikarjun said, even an umbrella works only when it is opened, so the people should keep their minds open. He said, “One should not have inferiority complex that one has nothing. Similarly, one should not be over-confident that one has everything. One’s attitude should be to achieve in one’s chosen field, with whatever strengths one has.” He said, when one treads the path to transformation, resistance by status quoists is expected, but, one should take criticism sportively and strive to achieve one’s goal.
