Following copious rainfall in the catchment area of Mani dam in Hosanagara taluk over the last one week, around 1,100 cusecs of water was released by opening three gates of the dam on Friday evening. Water reached the maximum level of 594.36 metre.
As many as 1,272 cusecs of water is being used for power generation. Moderate rains lashed several parts of Shivamogga district. Shivamogga, Hosanagara, Thirthahalli, Bhadravathi and Sagara received moderate rainfall.
