<p class="title">Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, on Monday, said that the government will shelve the elevated corridor project if people do not want it.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“We are here to help people by decongesting Bengaluru City. But if people oppose it, and accept traffic snarls as a way of life, we will let them be. The government will shelve the project,” Kumaraswamy added.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He spoke to reporters at his home office Krishna. He stated that he had held only a preliminary meeting on the feasibility of the elevated corridor with officials, ministers and experts.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He was agitated that people were opposed to this project, like they were in the case of the steel flyover (Basava circle to Hebbal flyover).</p>.<p class="bodytext">He added that all possibilities to decongest Bengaluru-- like metrorail, high speed rail link, monorail, flyover and increasing BMTC services --were being studied.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Defending his brother and Public Works (PWD) Minister H D Revanna’s presence in the meeting, Kumarasamy said: “Revanna is not hijacking the city’s development projects. The elevated corridor is being undertaken by KRDCL (Karnataka Road Development Corporation), a wing of PWD.
