With the surfacing of a video clip in which former chief minister Siddaramaiah is expressing doubt on the Congress-JD(S) coalition government completing a full five-year term, senior Congress leader Mallikarjuna Kharge said on Wednesday that he would speak to Siddaramaiah and ask in what context he made this statement.

“I have not seen the video. I am also not aware in which context Siddaramaiah made this statement. I will meet him in two days and discuss the issue,” Kharge told reporters. He said that all should work for strengthening the coalition government and on one should issue statement questioning the stability of the government.

“Congress forged the alliance with JD(S) to keep communal forces away from the power. So Congress wants the government to complete its five-year term,” he said.
