Not interested in politics, says Yaduveer

Last Updated 08 September 2018, 14:35 IST

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar on Saturday clarified that he had no interest in politics.

“I've no plans to venture into politics now. I am not interested in politics. Onus is on me to continue the legacy of the royal family,” he told reporters in Hassan.

“I learnt about me as a candidate for the Lok Sabha elections through media reports,” he said and brushed aside reports that he would join politics as rumours.

“There are other avenues for social service excluding politics,” he said and added that he would soon visit flood-hit areas of Kodagu.

On Nanja Raje Urs’ request to the state government to cancel honorarium to the royal family, Wadiyar said that he wasn’t aware of Urs’ request and the administrative board of the royal family would deal with the matter.
