India calls for return of inclusive federal democracy in Myanmar
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India wants peace and stability to return to Myanmar. Rakhine state and many other regions have reported severe fighting between armed ethnic groups and the Myanmarese military since October last year.

The Mizoram Assembly on Wednesday unanimously adopted a resolution opposing the Centre's decision to fence the India-Myanmar border and scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR) with the neighbouring country. It urged the Centre to instead take steps to ensure that Zo ethnic people, 'who have been divided in different countries, are unified under one administrative unit.'
