Members of Government Primary Teachers Association will take out a protest rally on February 16, demanding the speedy completion of the transfer process.

Association district committee general secretary Sundaresh told reporters on Wednesday that the rally will be taken out from Hanumantappa circle at 3 pm. The rally will end at the DC’s office, followed by submission of a memorandum to the deputy commissioner.

“The chief minister had promised to complete the transfer process by February. But no step has been taken in this regard so far. The transfer process was not carried out in past three years. The government should transfer the teachers according to the guidelines under the Teachers Transfer Act 2017,” said Sundaresh.

He meanwhile urged the government to scrap the new pension scheme (NPS). Association district committee president S T Rajappa, office bearers K M Puttappa, Jagadish, Kalaiah and Maheshappa were present in the press meet.

In Kodagu

Primary school teachers in Kodagu will take out a rally on February 16, from DDPI office to DC’s office and will submit a memorandum to the deputy commissioner, said association district president H S Chetan.

If the demands are not implemented, the teachers will strike work towards February end and will organise ‘Vidhana Soudha Chalo’ rally. Association Virajpet taluk unit president Surendra urged the government to end the disparity over payment.
