Adobe finally brings Photoshop app to Android phones

The new Photoshop app is considerably better than the Photoshop Express, which has been available for close to a decade.

Adobe earlier this year in February released the full-fledged Photoshop mobile app. However, it was limited to the Apple App Store for iPhones.

Now, the long wait for the Android version of Photoshop is finally over. Adobe has listed the new app on Google Play.

The new Photoshop app is way better than the Photoshop Express, which has been available for close to a decade. It comes with advanced photography tools fully optimised for handsets. It offers options such as layering, masking and the popular, Firefly-powered Generative Fill.

With the Firefly-powered Generative Fill feature, users can use any two photos and turn them into a video loop. Also, users can further refine the video with text prompts and add more effects. It is capable of generating b-roll, creating visual effects and refining shots by choosing camera angles, motion and style.

For the uninitiated, b-roll is a supplementary footage (mostly without audio) that helps fill the gaps or hide mistakes or jump cuts in the main video (a-roll) and it kind of enhances visual storytelling.

With Spot Healing Brush feature, users can remove unwanted objects without any trace in the footage. The Photoshop app also offers thousands of free multimedia assets of Adobe to improve videos.

Also, work on the desktop version of Photoshop can be accessed on the phone to complete the project on the go.

Currently, Adode's Photoshop is in beta mode on Google Play in select regions. The availability of the app will be expanded to more regions in the coming months.
