Xiaomi Redmi 14C 5G with Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 launched in India

The Redmi 14C comes in three colours-- stardust purple, stargaze black and starlight blue-- with prices starting at Rs 9,999 in India.

Xiaomi on Monday (January 6) launched the company's first smartphone of the year 2025, the Redmi 14C 5G series in India.

The new Redmi 14C 5G sports a 6.88-inch HD+(1600 x 720p) display. It has a 20:9 aspect ratio and supports 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 600 nits of peak brightness.

It also features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm audio jack, a loudspeaker (with 150 per cent volume boost capability), triple slots (for two nano SIMs and a microSD card) and a type-c port. It also comes with an IP52 water splash-resistant rating.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 octa-core processor. It can clock maximum CPU speed up to 2.2GHz. It is backed by Adreno 613 GPU, 4GB/6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 64GB/128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable up to 1TB) and a 5,160mAh battery with 18W charging speed capability.

The device runs Android 14-based Xiaomi HyperOS. It is guaranteed to get two years of Android OS update (up to Android 16) and an additional year of security software support.

Xiaomi's budget phone also boasts to dual-camera module-- main 50MP( with f/1.8 aperture) with a secondary camera and LED flash on the back. It also houses an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calling.

Xiaomi budget phone will be against Samsung Galaxy M05, Realme Narzo N61, Poco M6, Samsung Galaxy F05, and Tecno Pop 9, among others.
