Instagram gets new features including language translation option within DM, message scheduling and more

Another big feature coming with the new update for Instagram is the QR Code-based invite for group admin to allow new member to join their group.

Instagram has rolled out a new update with a whole load of new features to enhance the user experience on its social media platform.

One of the notable features is the built-in language translation option in the Direct Message (DM).

To translate a message in the chat, hold down on the message sent or received in another language and tap 'Translate.' The translated message will then appear below the original message in the conversation.

The update also brings a sharing feature in the DM. To share a song, open the sticker tray in the chat and tap 'Music' to search for any song in the Instagram audio library. Tap on the track to send a 30-second preview of the song featuring a spinning vinyl of the album.

Instagram is also bringing the message-scheduling feature to DM. Users can type the text message and hold down on the send button. Then, select the date and time, and tap on the 'Send' button to finish scheduling it.

In DM window, users can pin their favourite message or a meme or sticker or reel on top of the chat conversation.

To pin a message, image, meme or Reel to the top of the chat, long press on the message and tap “Pin.” If the user wants to unpin a message, just long press on the message and tap 'Unpin.' Users can pin up to three messages per conversation.

Another big feature coming with the new update is a QR Code-based invite to allow users to join their group. The group admin can share a QR code with prospective new members. The latter can just scan it and enter the group.

As a safety measure, the admin of the group chat can refresh the QR code at any time, to have full control over who can join the group.
