Dying Varthur lake- 360 degree video

Last Updated 07 April 2018, 07:00 IST

It's difficult to imagine that this could actually be Bengaluru's second largest lake. Spread out over a massive 445 acres, Varthur lake was created on the orders of the Ganga dynasty kings who ruled this land 1700 years ago.

Today, millions of gallons of sewage and industrial waste pour into it. All fresh water life has long ceased to exist. The only thing that thrives here is water hyacinth and alligator weed.
