Knee-deep water drowns Kolkata roads

Parts of Kolkata witnessed severe water-logging after widespread overnight rainfall which affected the vehicular movement in the city. Water also entered into houses in low-lying areas creating problems for the people. The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) forecasted that moderate rainfall with one or two spells of heavy rainfall likely to continue over parts of Kolkata.
