Dombivli gang rape case: NCPCR alleges Maharashtra Police not taking action on time

Commenting on the Dombivli gang rape case, National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) Chairperson Priyank Kanoongoon September 25 said that Maharashtra Police were unable to take timely action in such cases.

He said “We have notified concerned Police officials and have asked for a full report. We have observed that many such cases have happened in Maharashtra in the last few days. We feel that there is a lack of training in the Maharashtra Police. They are presenting a wrong example in Society. The state government is indifferent to victim's rehabilitation.”
