<p>Four Indian-origin doctors figure in the list of 50 most influential family physicians in Britain, according to an authoritative publication focussed on the medical profession.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The fourth annual list of top 50 general practitioners published by the 'Pulse' magazine includes Kamlesh Khunti, Chaand Nagpaul, Kailash Chand and Krishna Kasaraneni.<br /><br />The 'Pulse' list was compiled by a panel of 50 leading general practitioners and includes doctors who are considered by peers as the most influential on the profession, the National Health Service (NHS) and government policy.<br /><br />Leicester-based Khunti, who gained medical qualifications from the University of Dundee in 1984, is a diabetes care expert.<br /><br />Nagpaul, who graduated from the University of London in 1985, is based in Harrow.<br />Chand graduated from Pun---*-jabi (RPT Punjabi) University, Patiala, in 1974, and is based in Lancashire, while Kasaraneni gained his medical degree from the University of Leicester in 2005.<br /><br />Khunti, 50, who is also professor of diabetes and cardiovascular medicine at the University of Leicester, has been at the forefront of a number of national diabetes programmes and policies.</p>
