Israeli drones use sounds of crying babies to lure Palestinians out of camps

Israeli army is broadcasting recordings of women screaming and babied crying through quadcopter drones, to lure Palestinian's into the open where they can be targeted.

Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-based group said the new disturbing technique was being used to intimidate, lure and target Palestinian civilians in Nuseirat refuge camp, central Gaza Strip.

Resident who spoke to the team attested to hearing sounds of crying and screaming late at night. When some residents went out to investigate and tried to help, they were shot at by Israeli quadcopter drones.

The sounds that were heard by the residents were being played by the drones to force residents into the streets, where they could be easily targeted by snipers and other weaponry, in this new disturbing technique being employed by the Isreali army.

In an attempt to psychologically intimidate civilians, who live in complete darkness at night, the drone also play audios of gunshots, armed conflicts, exploitations, military vehicles movements and occasionally songs in Hebrew and Arabic.

"We were sitting at night when we heard voices of girls and women screaming: 'Come, help me, I am injured!" said a 20-year-old camp resident. When they went out to help, they were targeted by a quadcopter drone.

The resident said he managed to get cover however two others were seriously injured. Due to heavy gunfire they were unable to help the injured. They called and ambulance which was able to transport them.

A 60-year old woman, recounted hearing loud gunfire, followed by the distressed cries of a woman saying their children were injured and was pleading for help. The sounds lasted for 10 to 15 minutes. The woman said no one went outside as it was really late and they were aware it was recordings from planes.

Israeli army's continued brutal military assault employed machine gunfire from helicopters, tanks , quadcopters, artillery and airstrikes to attack the residents of Nuseriat camp. The army randomly and systematically targeted unsuspecting residents, even if they were simply walking down the street or looking out the window and also targeted some civilian residents who were attempting to move between shelter centres and homes or investigate what was going on in the area. They did not spare women or children.

Through the night the intensity of bombing and shooting operations increases. They targeted populated residential areas, civilian targets, including schools and mosques that house displaced people, as well as the civilian populace with the intention of killing and injuring them.
