<p>A young girl from Yangzhou City in China had been vomiting live worms for a month. </p><p>According to a <a href="https://www.scmp.com/news/people-culture/trending-china/article/3315674/chinese-girl-vomits-live-worms-month-doctors-finally-find-tiny-moths-blame?module=top_story&pgtype=subsection">report </a>in South China Morning Post, the eight-year-old girl was throwing up 1-cm long worms regularly.</p><p>Though she was taken to many doctors, nobody was able to provide a proper diagnosis. </p><p>Finally, a doctor from the Children’s Hospital of Soochow University in Jiangsu turned out to to be the savior. </p><p>The 'miracle' doctor suggested that they get the worm analysed at the local Centre for Disease Control and Prevention.</p><p>The staff immediately recognised the worm, matching it with worms they had once found in a 60-year-old woman.</p><p>Xu Yuhui, a department chief at the Yangzhou Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, explained that the drain flies’ larvae had contaminated the running underground water.</p><p>“When the child brushes her teeth or flushes the toilet, the worms might enter her system through splashes of water,” Xu said.</p><p>After seeing the revelations made by the hospital, many took to online to express concern over the development. </p><p>“This news really scares me. We have a lot of drain flies in our toilet. I even killed many with my hands,” one person said.</p><p>“They used to be my nightmare, all over my toilet and even flew into the living room. I had to use disinfectant to kill them,” said another.</p>
