The ban was imposed by the ministry's department for economic crimes.

Heidy Rassekh and Khadiga El-Gammal - the wives of Mubarak's sons Alaa and Gamal respectively - and their children, Omar Alaa and Farida Gamal, were prohibited from leaving the country in line with a probe on corruption charges against Mubarak and his family.
Gamal and Alaa are currently in Torah prison in Cairo over allegations of corruption and violence against protesters. Their wives were not detained but they have been summoned by prosecutors several times for questioning.

Hosni Mubarak, 82, is being investigated over deaths of hundreds of protesters during the 18-day uprising that forced him from power in February.

He is also under scrutiny for alleged abuse of power during his 30-year rule.
Mubarak has been under detention in a hospital in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh, where he is being treated for heart problems.
