<p>Marking a significant milestone, one of the tallest statues of Lord Ram in the world was inaugurated in the Canadian city of Mississauga in North America on Sunday. Standing at an impressive height of 51 feet, the Hindu deity's statue is the tallest in North America and was unveiled at the Hindu Heritage Centre of the city. </p>.<p>The elements of the statue were built in Delhi, and assembled in Canada. With the steel framework constructed to last a hundred years, and designed to withstand winds at the speed of 200 km/h, it is inspired by Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.</p>.<p>The endeavour began four years ago, and was possible after an Indo-Canadian businessman provided funding for the project. The location of the idol was strategically chosen as the new plane arrivals to the city could view the statue during landing at the Toronto Pearson International Airport. </p>.Ancient Hindu idols recovered during excavation in J&K's Anantnag district.<p>"The installation of this murti is not just a moment of pride, but also a reminder that righteousness must always be the guiding factor in our lives," shared Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, as he called the idol a gift to the spiritual community. </p>.<p>Kushagr Sharma, the principal organizer of the event, was extremely moved by the people who participated in the event. "To witness over 10,000 people come together in devotion and unity for the unveiling of Shri Ram’s 51-foot-tall murti was truly remarkable," he said.</p>.<p>He further commented, "This event was not just a celebration of our faith, but a proud moment for all Canadians who value cultural harmony and spiritual heritage." </p>.<p>The ceremony was attended by various Canadian politicians, and some names included International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu, the Minister of Women and Gender Equality Rechie Valdez, and President of the Treasury Board Shafqat Ali.</p>.<p>The idol symbolizes inter-cultural unity, peace, and heritage for all devotees. With the towering divine being a reflection of Hindu culture, this milestone will remain an honouring feat for the Indian diaspora in North America.</p>
