'Osama bin Laden in suit': Ex Pentagon official slams Pakistan's army Chief Asim Munir

In a bold remark on two significant topics, US tariffs and terror attack on Pahalgam, former Pentagon official Michael Rubin told news agency ANI that "it is becoming hard not to believe that Donald Trump has been bribed to turn such blind eye to Pakistan."

Rubin condemned Trump's aggressive tariff action and described him as a "businessman used to horse trading," adding the US President might have ambitions for Nobel Peace Prize but doesn't understand peace deal can actually advance war.

He later commented that Pakistan was acting like a "rogue" nation while slamming its army leadership. He compared Pakistan's army chief Asim Munir with terrorist and called him "Osama bin Laden in suit."

"Asim Munir's threat to cut the jugular, his rhetoric gives a green light to terrorists, some affiliated with the Pakistani military and ISI, to go rogue with the nuclear weapons," he said in the interview.

"There is no excuse to tolerate such nuclear-rogue behaviour, especially on American soil. Within 30 minutes of making the statement, Asim Munir should have been ushered out, taken to Tampa International Airport and flown out of the US," Rubin added.

Meanwhile, the former US official praised India's stand on US tariffs and said, "PM Modi standing up for India’s rights is going to be the episode that historians remember where the US truly learnt that you cannot kick India around."

Munir had said that Pakistan would wait for India to complete building the dams on the Indus and its tributaries and then fire missiles to destroy the dams.

"Nuclear sabre-rattling is Pakistan’s stock-in-trade," India said in a response to Munir's threat.

The MEA released a statement, saying, "Our attention has been drawn to remarks reportedly made by the Pakistani Chief of Army Staff while on a visit to the United States...India has already made it clear that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail. We will continue to take all steps necessary to safeguard our national security."
