Plague, war, asteroid collision: What Nostradamus predicted for 2025

Nostradamus, a French astrologer who lived in the 1500s -- born as Michel de Nostredame, had predicted several prophecies for the coming year 2025.

After analysing his work, researchers have predicted that 2025 may see an asteroid collision, plague-like disease outbreak in the United Kingdom, among other things.

Known as the 'Prophet of Doom', Nostradamus predicted some of the modern-day happenings - Hitler's rise to power, the September 11 attacks, and the Covid-19 pandemic.

The 16th-century seer is known for his book Les Prophetis (The Prophecies) which was published in 1555 and contains 942 poetic quatrains.

The trauma of not being able to cure and then losing his wife and young children to illness, made him want to warn people beforehand using his predictions.

Plague and war

Nostradamus has predicted that the coming year will be 'worse than enemies' for the United Kingdom as it will face an ancient plague. Notably, he was the one who had predicted the Covid-19 pandemic which came true in 2019.

Asteroid collision with Earth

Nostradamus had also predicted that 2025 may witness a giant asteroid hit the Earth or come threateningly close to it.

According to a report by the New York Post, Nostradamus wrote, "From the cosmos, a fireball will rise, A harbinger of fate, the world pleads. Science and fate in a cosmic dance, The fate of the Earth, a second chance."

End of Russia-Ukraine war

Nostradamus had also predicted that the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war may end in 2025 after both nations run out of their resources and finances.

According to NY Post, he wrote, "Through long war, all the army exhausted, so that they do not find money for the soldiers; instead of gold or silver, they will come to coin leather, Gallic brass, and the crescent sign of the Moon."

Natural disasters in Brazil

The French astrologer's predictions also stated that Brazil might witness floods and volcanic eruptions due to climate change.

Nostradamus also wrote, "Garden of the world near the new city, In the path of the hollow mountains: It will be seized and plunged into the Tub, forced to drink waters poisoned by sulfur."

France and Turkey

Nostradamus' prediction also stated that France and Turkey could enter into a war.
