Youth commits suicide claiming ‘terror threat'

A youth claiming death threats to him and his family from a terrorist organisation committed ‘suicide’ by hanging himself to death at his house at Bobbariamakki in Koteshwara in the district on Monday evening.

The deceased is identified as 23-year-old Vivek Mogaveera, who worked in a private firm in Bengaluru.

He had come to his native on leave and was to leave for Bengaluru on Monday night.

In his suicide note, Mogaveera has stated that he had received death threats from the terrorist organisation, that he had come in contact with two years ago.

He has stated that the organisation which was tracking him, had issued death threats and had also warned of killing his family members.

Mogaveera has stated that he wanted to safeguard his family from the organisation and had decided to end his life.

Sources in police told DH that the deceased had mentioned four alphabets in the suicide note indicating the name of the terrorist organisation.

The police are investigating the issue. A case is registered in Kundapur police station.
