BBMP bypolls on May 29

Bypolls for the two wards, Sagayapuram and Kaveripura, will be held on May 29.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Thursday issued a notification in this regard as the seats have been vacant following the demise of the respective corporators.

According to the BBMP Commissioner, N Manjunath Prasad, the last date for filing nomination would be May 17.

"There are 49,236 voters in Sagayapuram and 31,926 voters in Kaveripura. The voters' list has been obtained from the general election's electoral list. While the Sagayapuram ward is reserved for the general category, Kaveripura is reserved for the OBC category. The polls will be conducted at 31 booths in Sagayapuram and 43 booths in Kaveripura," the commissioner said.
