Audio system stolen from ex-minister Somashekhar’s car

Miscreants broke the window of a former minister’s car and made away with the audio system early on Sunday morning.

The suspects had arrived in a Maruti Zen and targeted B Somashekhar’s car parked in front of his house at RMV 2nd Stage in North Bengaluru's Sanjaynagar.

“The son of the retired ACP, who lives next door, alerted me on the phone. He came out on hearing a noise outside and saw three people removing the touchscreen system from my car. As one of them was holding an iron rod, he alerted the police as well,” Somashekhar said.

By the time he rushed outside, the suspects were getting ready to break the window of another car with a similar system, the former minister added. “They sped away in the car after seeing us,” he said.

The police said they were obtaining the digital video recorders of CCTV cameras in the area.

“Since it was dark, it was difficult to see the faces of the suspects. But we are trying to trace a sticker on the car used for the crime,” a police official said.
