St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, was ranked third among 'India's best maintained campuses' under the Swacch campus scheme of Government of India.
The ranking was announced by Union Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Prakash Javdekar, on October 1 in New Delhi, and certificates were distributed.
Announcing the award in a press meet here on Wednesday, college principal Rev Dr Praveen Martis, said that the rankings were assessed on the basis of stringent guidelines laid down by HRD ministry.
The parameters included cleanliness on campus, green initiatives, environmental protection measures, sufficient toilets (and their maintenance), canteen maintenance, hostels, clean drinking water, green audit, energy conservation, waste management system and waste recycling.
